Solar Thermal Transfer
Solar thermal panels use sunlight to heat liquid which in turn is used to provide hot water. For most retrofit solutions this entails installing a replacement hot water cylinder with two coils rather than the traditional one coil.
The main coil is heated by the suns free energy via the solar collector with an additional coil connected to your boiler for back up heating as required in the cooler months. But even when your collector is not providing all your hot water requirements it will be preheating your tank meaning your boiler has even less work to do!
